Since vaping has been on the rise for the past couple of years. For that time it has been considered as a safer alternative to smoking cigarettes in the beginning. It has exploded among teenagers and since 2011. The number of teens vaping has only gone up. In 2018. about 20% of teens were vaping, that is about 2.1 million teens reported using vape products. 

Vaporizers or Vapor Mods use the battery device that is used to heat up aerosol, substance that contains toxicants that are potentially harmful, to create vapors. 

These vapors heat up all kinds of substances, from basic flavorings to nicotine and marijuana. Even though nicotine is highly addictive, it does not stop the users from vaping, not even the fact that all kinds of symptoms and risks are stated on the packaging.

The first prototype of vapor was thought of, and began in 1963. but the first actual product did not appear since 2003.

The Dangers Of Vaping

Vaping first started as a healthy alternative for cigarette users, vaping companies claimed that their product is healthier than cigarettes and could get you out of the addiction of smoking them, by using their products. Although it has helped many people, changing one's addiction with other that was easily curable. it has recently become not so harmless as it has claimed. There are many lung injuries reported every single day, and what every patient has in common is that they use vaping products. Patients show up with a variety of symptoms, including shortness of breath, chest pain, breathing difficulty and many more. 

First death caused by vaping happened in August last year in Illinois. Patient had symptoms of coughing, shortness of breath and fatigue. That case sparked up many more, with patients that have those same symptoms. And every single one of those patients vaped nicotine or marijuana products. With the death count on the rise, doctors and CDC members are trying to figure out what exactly is the cause of death.

Cancer

Recent studies have shown that vaping is linked with cancer. Study was about testing the nicotine vapor on mice, and as a result of testing 22% out of 40 mice developed cancer and 55% developed bladder lesions. Researches also tested the mice with the non-nicotine vapors, because it was expected that the cause of cancer was none other than nicotine, and out of 20 mice none of them developed cancer. Even though mice are not humans, that does not take away various harms that are possible when vaping.

Vaping benefits

Even though vaping has many cons, downsides and health related risk, there are also some benefits that come with it. Vapors do, wheather we like it or not, provide a healthier alternative to cigarettes, and other tobacco products. Studies have shown that vaping can help smokers quit or reduce their smoking habit. CDC confirmed that vapors can benefit smokers, as long as they use non-nicotine vaping products. Meanwhile they are saying that vaping products should not to be used by teenagers, kids and pregnant women.
